In April 2007, after our contract in Ontario ended, we made the decision to develop a line of knives that would surpass the mass production capabilities of Ontario. The result was the new ESEE Line (Formerly RAT Cutlery), which is considered "mid-tech" in terms of its quality and manufacturing processes. This upgrade means that ESEE knives now boast improved sheathing, fit, finish, and attention to detail.

One of the most significant improvements is ESEE's ability to swiftly respond to new product development and enhancements to existing lines. All of our designs prioritize toughness, comfort, and cutting efficiency, making them ideal for field use. Unlike many other manufacturers, ESEE does not release a new knife purely based on its appeal on paper. Instead, each new design prototype undergoes personal field testing before advancing to the production stage.

Following the necessary design adjustments, the knife undergoes further testing during field outings in the United States and jungle survival classes in the Peruvian Amazon. Additionally, we have a global network of users who test our knives and provide feedback.
